In the oil and fuel industry, most companies are using the barcode system for the process of fuel injection. However, the barcode system has shortcomings that these companies can no longer bear. Not only is the barcode easily damaged, the process of finding the barcode and reading it is time consuming. Not to mention the data collected is often inaccurate, which makes it extremely difficult to manage and monitor the fuel injection process. Before implementation of the EFDS, there is no method for businesses to gather vehicle operation time data in an automated manner and cross reference such data with fuel consumption data from flow meter for efficiency analysis. The Operation of EFDS

EFDS integrates advanced active RFID technology and customized hardware design to enhance operation efficiency of the fuel injestion process. With the installation of ID tag on vehicles, operators can identify target vehicles conveniently with the Mobile Handheld Reader for fuel injection. The ES-Box and Operation Timer provides fuel injection time and amount data as well as vehicle operation time data to the Mobile Handheld Reader automatically.  Such data would be loaded to a PC afterwards to generate efficiency reports. Any inefficient use of fuel can be detected in timely manner. The implementation of EFDS, will thus, help the industry to automate the whole process and control oil consumption, which in turn improve overall efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Invited to Seminar In the Oil & Gas Industry

HK-RFID is honored to be invited to a recent seminar organized by one of the most famous global group of petrochemicals and fuel companies to share the latest application and technological developments for utilizing RFID in the fuels/lubricants, engine and vehicle management field with various companies from the construction and fuel industry. One of the highlights of the event is the demonstration of our latest RFID solution - Electronic Fuel Delivery System (EFDS) powered by 2.4GHz active RFID, which is specially designed for the oil and fuel industry to improve business efficiency through automation of the whole operating process.

During the seminar, our representatives have introduced the basic ideas and knowledge behind the system and demonstrated the general operation flow through an interactive approach. Significant positive responses were received. The seminar has achieved great success in bringing and introducing RFID technology into the industry with its inspiring characteristics and functions compared to the old technology (barcode system) used.

At the end of the seminar, audience were impressed by the innovative application and shown great interests in it while stronger bonding between HK-RFID and the oil industry has been found. Electronic Fuel Delivery System - Simple with Multiple Functions

To operate the system, ID-Tags with unique ID and LED light will be installed on vehicles. When operators choose a specific vehicle for oil injection via Mobile Handheld Reader, the respective LED will light up for identification. The ES-Box installed in the oil truck will then record the starting & stopping time and the injection amount of fuel injection. On the other hand, the operation time of each vehicle will be stored in the Operation Timer connected to the fuse box inside the vehicle. All data in the ES-Box and Operation Timer will be automatically downloaded to the Mobile Handheld Reader, which can then be connected to a PC to generate an efficiency report for further analysis purpose. The whole operation flow of the system is simple, easy and automated!

Winning of Hong Kong Awards for Industries (HKAI) 2012

Congratulation to Hong Kong RFID Ltd.! Since 2006, it has been the 3rd year for the company to win the Hong Kong Awards for Industry (HKAI). This year, Hong Kong RFID Ltd. is once again honored to be awarded the Certificate of Merit in the HKAI Machinery category with its innovative active RFID solution - Electronic Fuel Delivery System (EFDS). In the award presentation ceremony, representative of the HKAI Organizing Committee presented the award to Hong Kong RFID Ltd. to recognize its achievement.

The awarded system, EFDS, utilizes latest active RFID technology to help significantly improve operating efficiency in the oil industry through automation of the whole fuel injection and recording process. With only several RFID equipment installed - Mobile Handheld Reader, ID tag, Operation Timer and ES-Box; the daily fuel injection operation can become much efficient and convenient. Using the ID tag with LED light for identification of specific vehicles, operators can control the whole process with the Mobile Handheld Reader, which can then automatically download data such as starting & stopping time of fuel injection and injection volume for each vehicle. A receipt and report can also be generated for record and further efficiency analysis. 

By overcoming difficulties of the existing barcode system, such as durability; efficiency, data accuracy and wrong mapping, this new automatic active RFID system will greatly save the time of fuel injection process as well as help monitoring fuel consumption. With such high reliability and innovative design, the system has impressed the judges and is believed to make unprecedented contributions to the industry.
